Garden Club News
A message from our new co-Presidents, Lynn Mahoney and Ann Sprague:
The garden club’s steering committee has filled all positions for the next two years, except for 3. The first is for a co-vice president (an experienced co-vice president has already agreed to serve for another 2-year term with you). We also need 2 at-large members on our committee. We ask that anyone on the steering committee plan to attend most of our steering committee meetings, which are held at 7 P.M. the 1st Tuesday of September, October, November, and January through June. The meetings are held at the Sandy Spring Museum or on Zoom.
Following are some duties associated with the vacant steering committee positions. The co-vice presidents will:
1) Co-chair 2 greens sale preparation workshops annually. One takes place in July (Christmas in July), and the second is in October (Spooky Workshop). Tasks include ordering materials needed to prepare bases for the greens sale items, setting up the workshop area prior to workshop day, and publicizing information about the workshops to encourage attendance;
2) Attend as many of the 9 monthly steering committee meetings as possible
At-large members will:
1) Attend as many of the 9 monthly steering committee meetings as possible;
2) Share ideas and opinions regarding programs, projects, and plans of the steering committee;
Please consider serving on our steering committee if either position sparks your interest. Your participation will be valued, and you’ll make strong, rewarding connections in the club.
Contact Lynn Mahoney at 240-447-3124, or Ann Sprague at 301-524-6263.
Other 2023-24 Officers include:
