GETTING READY FOR SPRING: IDEAS FOR NATURAL LANDSCAPING AND SPRING CONTAINER GARDENS

Sunday, February 12, 2023 at 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Spring into action and get your gardens ready for the changing season. Discover the secrets behind natural landscaping, from working with the native plants and animal species of Maryland to building beautiful garden areas. Led by Carrie Engel, you will learn how to make your landscaping more sustainable and efficient. Carrie will also conduct a demonstration on spring container gardening, sharing the tips and techniques for gardening in pots.

Carrie Engel is the Greenhouse Manager for Valley View Farm Garden Center and Nursery and has over 50 years of experience working with nurseries. She often appears on WBAL’s Sunday Gardener and enjoys speaking about gardening. Carrie’s other interests include photography and road trips, looking for new plants and gardens everywhere she goes!

This program is hosted by Sandy Spring Museum’s Garden Club.

For accommodation requests, please contact the museum via email or at 301-774-0022.

Individual tickets are $10, but free for members!

Thank you to all the elves who helped at the

Greens Sale Workshops

As a last minute project using leftover greens, we made 12 mug arrangements for residents of the Friends House Health Center and for other friends in need of a
little bit of brightness in their day.
